Cruis'n USA is a racing game created by Midway that was released in 1994 for arcades, and 1996 for the Nintendo 64.
Gameplay[]
As the name suggests, Cruis'n USA takes the player across the US as racers compete against 9 computer-controlled opponents on 14 different tracks from a selection of 7 vehicles. The goal of the game is to make it from the beginning to end of a track in a predetermined amount of time. Checkpoints are placed along the way that grants the player more time. Obstacles, such as oncoming traffic and enviromental hazards, pose a challenge to the player, as crashing into them can cause the player to lose his/her position, and waste time altogether.
Modes[]
Cruise the USA: In this mode, the player races on each track against 9 other computer-controlled opponents. The goal of this mode is to place first on every track, and ultimately complete the game. Depending on what difficulty the player completes this on, they will unlock an upgraded version of the car they used.
Cars[]
Every playable car, when used to complete the game on a certain difficulty, will change color and receive a top speed boost to help it compete with the AI in higher difficulty settings.
Playable[]
There are 7 cars (3 hidden) to choose from. They are:
- '63 Muscle Car, based on the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

(Note: These cars can be made playable through the use of the "Car Modifier" function available on the Nintendo 64 GameShark cartridge.
